Government: The basic principles of the government of the Republic based on the separation of powers (with the people being the holders and source of all authority, which they exercise directly through voting and referendums. The people exercise this power indirectly through the legislative and executive, and judicial organs and through their elected local councils). The regime is also based on political and partisan pluralism, with a view towards peaceful transition of authority. The Republic of Yemen works to wards strengthening and reinforcing the bonds of friendship and cooperation with all peace loving states and peoples n the basis of mutual respect. The Administrative Divisions of the Country: The Republic of Yemen consists of 20 administrative governorates, in addition to the Capital Secretariat (the City of Sana’a) and each governorate consists of many districts and administrative centers. These governorates are as the following:
